3、fifteendifferentwindloadingcodesandstandardsfromtheAsia-PacificRegion.Thelow-risebuildingisatypicalsteelportal-framedindustrialwarehousebuildingassumedtobelocatedinaruralarea.Themediumheightbuildingisa48metrehighofficebuildinginatropicalcity.Thehigh-risebuildingis183metreshigh,locatedinur
4、banterrain.Thedesignwindspeedsatthetopofeachbuilding,andotherwindpropertiessuchasturbulenceintensitywereprescribed.Thecomparisonsshowedvaryingdegreesofagreement.Commentsonthedifferencesaregiven.INTRODUCTIONBetween2004and2007,fourInternationalWorkshopsonRegionalHarmonizationofWindLoadingan
5、dWindEnvironmentalSpecificationsinAsia-PacificEconomieswereheld.Apracticaloutcomeofthesemeetingswasacomparisonofthewindloadsonthreetypicalbuildingsevaluatedbythevariouswindloadingcodesandstandardsacrosstheregion.Upto15economiesparticipatedinthecomparison.Hopefully,thiscomparisonwillleadto
6、futureharmonizationofwindloadingspecificationacrossthediverseeconomiesoftheAsiaPacific.Inallcasesthewindspeedsatthetopofthebuildingswerespecified.Windspeedswithaveragingtimesof3-seconds,10-minutesand1-hourwereallspecified,andparticipantsselectedtheappropriateonesaccordingtotheaveragingtim
