1、跨文化视角下动物词汇的内涵与翻译ACross-culturalStudyontheConnotationandTranslationofAnimalWords内容摘要漫长的人类发展史上,人类与动物频繁接触,人与动物之间产生互相依赖的关系。动物的形象在我们日常生活中留下烙印,形成各种独特的动物文化。因此,大量含有动物形象的词,习语,熟语等进入英,汉语。在日常交际或文学作品中,动物词汇的灵活运用并不少见,这使得英,汉语的描写更生动,用词更精练,色彩更丰富。然而由于地理环境,风俗习惯,宗教等因素的不同,一些动物词汇在
2、英,汉语中有着完全不同甚至相反的象征意义与文化内涵。各类文化障碍总是存在跨文化翻译过程中。因此,在跨文化翻译中,保留原文的动物形象及其文化内涵,用译文中具有相同象征意义及文化内涵的另一种动物形象代替,这是实现成功翻译必须考虑的关键问题之一。本论文收集了一些英,汉动物词汇,并分析两种文化的差异,论文也介绍了准确表达原文动物词汇内涵的翻译方法。关键词:动物词汇,跨文化,翻译AbstractThroughoutthehistoryofthesocialevolution,mancomesintocontactwith

4、dChineselanguages.Thecleveruseofanimalwordsisbynomeansscareineverydaycommunicationorliteraryworks,whichhelpsmakeEnglishandChinesevividandlivelyinimage,plainandexpressiveincharacter,andrichandstronginflavor.However,differentnationsdonottreatalltheanimalwordsi
5、nthesamewayduetothedifferentgeographicalenvironment,customsandhabits,religion,etc.Somanyanimalwordsmayhavetotallydifferentorevenoppositeculturalobstacles,alwayslieinwaitduringthecourseoftranslatingfromonecultureintoanother.Sointhecross-culturaltranslation,to
6、keeptheanimalimageandconveytheculturalconnotation,ortogiveuptheculturalconnotationandreplacetheanimalimageoftheoriginaltextbyotheranimalimagewiththesameandsimilarsymbolandculturalconnotation,definitely,isoneofthekeyproblemsthatshouldbetakenintoconsiderationi
