6、unctionalpracticeandconversationalinputelicitationthandopoorlymotivatedlearners.AfterstudyingthereasonsthatadultstudentslearnEnglishforcareerattheUSForeignServiceInstitute,Ehrman(1990)pointsoutthataninstrumentalmotivationcanresultinapreferenceforcommunicative-orientedstrategies.RodEllis(1997)f
