6、ddlinghavetheiroriginfromthenorthAmericanIndianswhombuiltandusedsmallboatsmovedbypaddlesfortraveling,hunting,andevenforwarpurposes(fig.1).Theywereopenboatswithraisedbows(tipoftheboat),typicalbyitscharacteristicconstruction,wheretherewasafixedshellplankingfrombirch-barkonthehardfr
7、ame,builtfromnaturallygrownribcages.Thesamemethodwasstillusedforbuildingcanoesinthe50tiesofthiscenturyandwaschangedaftertheinventionofwaterproofglues,whichallowedshellconstruction.Anotherbigchangecamewiththeinventionoffiberglass,whichcompletelystoppedtheusageofwoodfortheconstruct
