1、SenateRegulationsforPostgraduateTaughtProgrammesofStudy–ModularProgrammes1.GENERALTheseregulationsaretobereadinconjunctionwithSenateAssessmentRegulationsforTaughtProgrammesofStudy.2.DEFINITIONSThefollowingdefinitionsshallapplyinrespectoftheseRegulations:A

2、ssessment:FormsofAssessmentfallintooneoftwotypes:FormativeAssessment(s):ForthepurposeoftheseRegulations,FormativeAssessmentisdefinedasAssessmentthatdoesnotcontributetothefinalawardofCredit.SummativeAssessment(s):ForthepurposeoftheseRegulations,SummativeAs

3、sessmentisdefinedasthatwhichmeasureswhetherastudenthasachievedthelearningoutcomesforadefinedunitoflearning,andatwhatstandardofperformance.SummativeAssessmentcontributestotheawardofCredit.MethodsofAssessment(ClassTest,CourseworkAssessment,Examination,Pract

4、ical-BasedExamination)aredefinedinSenateAssessmentRegulationsforTaughtProgrammesofStudy.AssessmentCriteria:AdescriptionofwhatthelearnerisexpectedtoachieveinordertodemonstratethattheModuleLearningOutcomeshavebeenmet.CalendarYear:Aperiodoftwelveconsecutivem

5、onths.CoreModule:AModulewhich,inaccordancewiththeProgrammeRegulationsforaparticularProgrammeofStudy,iscompulsoryforstudentsregisteredonthatprogrammeoronaroutewithinthatprogramme.BoardsofStudiesmayrecommendthataModuleshallbeaCoreModuleforoneormoreProgramme

6、sofStudyand/orroutesandanOptionModuleforoneormoreprogrammesand/orroutes.Co-requisite(s):Moduleswhich,inaccordancewiththeProgrammeRegulations,mustbestudiedconcurrentlybystudentsregisteredonthatprogrammeoronaroutewithinthatprogramme.CQFW:CreditandQualificat
