3、eaccentednessondecisionmaking.Inthreeexperimentalstudies,weinvestigatedwhethermes-sagesaboutacompanydeliveredinnonstandard-American-accentedspeechinfluencedchoice.InStudy1,wefoundthatindividualsweremorelikelytochooseacompanyoraproductwhenamessagewasreadi

4、nastandardAmericanEnglishaccentthanwhenthemessagewasdeliv-eredwithaMandarinChineseoraFrenchaccent.InStudy2,wefoundthatexpectationsregardingcompanymessagesareviolatedwhenspeakershaveaccentsandthat,inturn,expec-tationviolationsmediatedtherelationshipbetwee

5、naccentandchoice.InStudy3,wereplicatedthefindingsoftheeffectofaccentonchoiceusingIndianandBritishaccents.Wealsohypoth-esizedandfoundsupportforaconditionalindirecteffectsmodelsuchthatimplicitpro-Ameri-canbiasmoderatedtheindirectrelationshipbetweenaccentan
