5、eattoglobalhealth.MostEIDsappeartoresultfromincreasedcontactbetweenwildlifeandhumans,especiallywhenhumansencroachintoformerlypristinehabitats.Habitatdeteriorationmayalsonegativelyaffectthephysiologyandhealthofwildlifespecies,whichmayeventuallyleadtoahighersusceptibilityt
6、oinfectiousagentsand/orincreasedsheddingofthepa-thogenscausingEIDs.BatsareknowntohostvirusescloselyrelatedtoimportantEIDs.Here,wetestedinapaleotropicalforestwithongoingloggingandfragmentation,whetherhabitatdisturbanceinfluencestheoccurrenceofastro-andcoronavirusesineightb
7、atspecies.Incontrasttoourhypothesis,anthropogenichabitatdisturbancewasnotassociatedwithcorona-andastrovirusdetectionratesinfecalsamples.However,wefoundthatbatsinfectedwitheitherastro-orcoronaviruseswerelikelytobecoinfectedwiththerespectiveothervirus.Additionally,weidenti
