4、ain)todiscovertheprevalenceandspreadofPRCV-infectionamongbreedingpigsandfarmsanddeterminetheassociationbetweenherdsizeandgeographicalzonewithPRCV-infection.TheMurciaRegionwasdividedintofourgeographicalzonesandthefarmsclassifiedbysizeinfourcategories.Ther
5、andomsamplewasstatisticallyrepresentativeofboththebreedingstockandfarmsineachgeographicalzone.Weanalysed6,000breedingpigsfrom480farms.TheimmunologicaltechniquesemployedwereindirectELISAandblockingELISA.Theprevalence(PkIC)ofPRCV-seropositivebreedingpigsan
6、dinfectedbreedingfarmswas14.53f0.89YOand21.87f7.83%respectively.On55%oftheinfectedfarms,theprevalenceofseropositivebreedingpigswas60-100%.PRCV-infectionappearsspreadthroughoutthefourgeographicalzonesoftheMurciaRegion.However,asignificantassociation(p<0.0
7、1)wasobservedbetweengeographicalzoneandtheprevalenceofPRCV-infection.Aherdsizeof>50breedingpigshadagreaterrisk(p<0.01)ofPRCV-infection.IntroductionInthelastfewyears,ahighincidenceofTGEvirusantibodieswithoutclinicalsignsofentericdiseasehasbeenobservedinth
