6、1986;JESTINetal.,1987;PENSAERTetal.,1986).ThecausalagenthasbeenisolatedincellcultureinBelgium,inDenmark,inGreat-Britain(seeinJESTINetal.,1987),andinFrance(DURETetal.,1988).Theviruswasshowntobeabletomultiplyintherespiratorytract,notinthedigestivetract(PENSAERTetal.,1986).Theseresultsconfirme
7、dtheexistenceofarespiratoryporcinecoronaviruswhichisrelatedtoTGEvirus.AntigenicstudiesshowedthatthiscoronavirusisstronglyrelatedtoTGEvirus.Thethreenon-structuralproteinsarequitesimilar,neverthelessdifferencesintheepitopicmaphavebeenidentifiedinproteinEla
