4、TGEV)andporcinerespiratorycoronavirus(PRCV)hasbeendeterminedandcorrelatedwiththephysicalstruc-ture.Fourantigenicsiteshavebeendefined(A,B,C,andD).ThesitesinvolvedintheneutralizationofTGEVare:A,D,andB,sitesAandDbeingantigenicallydominantforTGEVneutralizationi
5、nvitro.Thesetwositeshavespecificpropertiesofinterest:siteAishighlyconservedandispresentincoronavirusesofthreeanimalspecies,andsiteDcanberepresentedbysyntheticpeptides.Bothsitesmightberelevantinprotectioninvivo.PRCVdoesnothavesitesBandC,duetoagenomicdeletion
6、.Complexantigenicsites,i.e.,conformationandglycosylationdependentsites,havebeenrepresentedbysimplemimotopesselectedfromalibraryexpressingrecombinantpeptideswithrandomse-quences,orbyanti-idiotypicinternalimagemonoclonalantibodies.Anepidemiologicaltreerelatin
7、gtheTGEVsandPRCVshasbeenproposed.Theestimatedmutationfixationrateof7+2×10-4sub-stitutionspernucleotideandyearindicatesthatTGEVrelatedcoronavirusesshowsimilarvariabilitytootherRNAviruses.Inordertoinducesecretoryimmunity,differentsegmentsoftheSgenehavebeenexp
