2、February1985)SummaryApanelof28monoclonalantibodies(MAb)againstthestructuralproteinsofmurinehepatitisvirus-4,strainJHM(MHV-4)wasusedinthreeantigenbindingassaystodeterminetheextentofantigenichomologyamongsixstrainsofmurinecoronaviruses.TheantigenicdeterminantsstudiedwerehighlyconservedontheElglyc
3、oproteinsandnucleocapsid(N)proteinsofallstrainstested.Incontrast,antigenicpolymorphismwasobservedamongtheE2glycoproteins.Ofthreeprevi-ouslydescribedantigenicdeterminantsagainstwhichneutralizingantibodiesaredirected,onlyone,termedA(E2),wasconservedonallstrains.Antigenicsite.B(E2)wasfoundonlyonth
4、estronglyneurotropicMHV4andsiteC(E2)waspresentonthevirulentMHV4andMHV-3(hepatotropic)strains,butabsentontheweaklypathogenicMHV-A59,MHV-1andMHV-Sstrains.Fournon-neutralizingantibod-iesagainstatleastonetopographicallydistinctantigenicdeterminant,whichwepreviouslydesignatedD(E2),gavebindingpattern
