3、thispaper,wepresentadetailedempiricalinvestigationoftrustincommercialsoftwareoutsourcingrelationships.Theinvestigationpresentswhatvendorcompaniesperceiveaboutgettingtrustfromclientcompaniesinoutsourcingrelationships.Wepresenttheresultsintwoparts—(1)achievingtrustinitiallyinoutsourcingrelati

4、onshipsand(2)maintainingtrustinongoingoutsourcingrelationships.Ourfindingsconfirmthatthecriticalfactorstoachievingtrustinitiallyinanoutsourcingrelationshipincludepreviousclients’referenceandexperienceofvendorinoutsourcingengagements.Criticalfactorsidentifiedformaintainingtrustinanestablishe

5、doutsourcingrelationshipincludetransparency,demonstrability,honesty,processfollowedandcommitment.Ourfindingsalsosuggestthattrustisconsideredtobeveryfragileinoutsourcingrelationships.Inthispaper,weanalysesIndiansoftwareoutsourcingvendors’viewsontheroleoftrustinsoftwareoutsourcingrelationship

6、s.Thestudyisbasedonanempiricalinvestigationof18highmaturitysoftwarevendorcompaniesbasedinIndia.Weaimtoinvestigatethecriticalfactorstoachievingtrustinoutsourcingrelationships.Inthisstudy,weconsidersoftwareoutsourcingasthecontractingoutofpartorallofaclient’ssoftwareactivitytoavendorcompany[1–
