1、CAC/GL67-2008Page1of6MODELEXPORTCERTIFICATEFORMILKANDMILKPRODUCTSCAC/GL67-2008INTRODUCTION1.Certificationisonemethodthatcanbeutilizedbyregulatoryagenciesofimportingandexportingcountriestocomplementthecontroloftheirinspectionsystemsformilkandmilkproduct

2、s.Thismodelcertificaterecognizesthatimportingcountryauthoritiesmay,asaconditionofclearanceofconsignments,requireimporterstopresentofficialcertificatesissuedby,orwiththeauthorityof,exportingcountryauthorities.Tohelpfacilitateinternationaltrade,thenumber

3、sandtypesofcertificatesshouldbelimited.Harmonisationeffortscouldbepromotedthroughtheuseofinternational(Codex)modelcertificatessuchasthisModelExportCertificatewhichshouldbeconsideredwhendevelopinganofficialorofficiallyrecognisedcertificateformilkandmilk

4、products.2.ThisModelExportCertificatedoesnotdealwithmattersofanimalandplanthealthunlessdirectlyrelatedtofoodsafetyorsuitability.Howeveritisrecognisedthatinpracticeasinglecertificatemaycontaininformationrelevanttoseveralmatters.Whereattestationonanimalh

5、ealthmattersisrequired,referenceshouldbemadetotheOIETerrestrialAnimalHealthCode.3.TheModelExportCertificateforMilkandMilkProductsdoesnotmandatetheuseofsuchcertification.Alternativestotheuseofofficialandofficiallyrecognizedcertificatesshouldbeconsidered

6、whereverpossible,inparticularwheretheinspectionsystemandrequirementsofanexportingcountryareassessedasbeingequivalenttothoseoftheimportingcountry.4.TheModelExportCertificateforMilkandMilkProductsdoesnotinanywaydiminishthetradefacilitationroleofcommercia

7、lorothertypesofcertificates,includingthirdpartycertificates,notissuedby,orwiththeauthorityof,exportingcountryauthorities.OBJECTIVES5.Thecertificateshouldcontainessentialinformationrelatingtotheprotectionofthehealthofconsumersandensuringfairpracticesint

8、hefoodtrade.6.Thecertificateshouldclearlydescribethedairyproductandtheconsignmenttowhichituniquelyrelates.Thecertificateshouldcontainaclearreferencetothehygienerequirementstowhichthecertifieddairyproductneedstoconform.Thisstatementisbas
