3、yearperiod.2AndatleastsomeofthesepeopleknowthathewasenthusiasticaboutJoyce’sUlyssesduringmuchthesametimeand‘planned’afilmonit,afactthatdistortstheirfantasiesabouttheCapitalprojectaswell.YetifEisenstein’snotesforfilmprojectsalllookedlikethisuntilsomeofthemwereturnedinto‘real’—thatistosay,fict

4、ionornarrative—films,itisonlyfairtowarnviewersthatKluge’s‘real’filmslookmorelikeEisenstein’snotes.Manyimportantintellectualshave—asitwere,posthumously—endorsedMarxism:onethinksofDerrida’sSpectresofMarxandofDeleuze’sunreal-izedGrandeurdeMarx,alongwithanynumberofmorecontemporarywitnessestothe
