6、followedhisreturntoEnglandwerethedarkestofWordsworth'slife.Thisdarkperiodendedin1795,whenafriend'slegacymadepossibleWordsworth'sreunionwithhisbelovedsisterDorothy--andtheirmovein1797toAlfoxdenHouse.ThereWordsworthbecamefriendswithafellowpoet,Coleridge,andthe
7、yformedapartnershipthatwouldchangebothpoets'livesandalterthecourseofEnglishpoetry.ThroughalltheseyearsWordsworthwasassailedbyviciousandtirelesscriticalattacksbycontemptuousreviewers;nogreatpoethaseverhadtoendureworse.Butfinally,bythemid-1830shisreputationhad
