5、ractsineachcitycanbegroupedintofourcategories:innercitytractscharacterizedbysmallaveragetractsizeandsmallamountsofspaceforgrowingvegetation;transitionaltractswithincreasedamountsofgrowingspace;residentialtractswithlargeamountsofherbaceouscoverandgrowingspace;andsuburbantractscharact

6、erizedbylargeaveragetractsizeandlargeamountsofgrowingspace.Differenceswithinthesegroupsamongthecitiescanbeattributedtodifferentpatternsofdevelopmentanddifferencesinpotentialnaturalvegetation.Broadsimilaritiesamongthethreecitieswithverydifferentdevelopmenthistories,indicatethatsimpli
