3、icsseeEvans(2007).DISTRIBUTIONCognitivelinguisticshasitsoriginsinscholarshipwhichemergedinthe1970s,conductedbyasmallnumberofresearchers.TheseincludeCharlesFillmore(e.g.,1975),GeorgeLakoff(e.g.,1977;Lakoff&Thompson,1975),RonaldLangacker(e.g.,1978)andLeonardTalmy(e.g.,1975,19
4、78).Thisresearcharoseoutofdissatisfactionwithformalapproaches,thendominantinthedisciplinesoflinguisticsandphilosophy.Whileitsoriginswere,inpart,philosophicalinnature,asisevidentinthelandmark1980publication,MetaphorsweLiveby,byLakoffandJohnson,cognitivelinguisticshasalwaysb
5、eenstronglyinfluencedbytheoriesandfindingsfromtheothercognitivesciencesastheyemergedduringthe1960sand1970s,particularlycognitivepsychology,andmorerecentlybythebrainsciences,especiallytheinterdisciplinaryperspectiveknownascognitiveneuroscience.Inrecentyears,cognitivelinguist
6、ictheorieshavebecomesufficientlysophisticatedanddetailedtobeginmakingpredictionsthataretestableusingabroadrangeofconvergingmethodsfromthecognitiveandbrainsciences.González-Márquez,Mittelberg,Coulson,andSpivey(2006),forinstance,provideareviewofsomeofthemethodologiescurrently
7、deployedincognitivelinguistics.Perhapswhatismostdistinctiveaboutcognitivelinguisticsisthatitisnotasinglearticulatedtheoreticalperspectiveormethodologicaltoolkit.Norisitsubjecttotheexcathedrapronouncementsofasingletheoreticalauthority.Rather,cognitivelinguisticsconstitutes
