3、shTeachingI.IntroductionInthe20s-30softhe20thcentury,thestudyofcross-culturalcommunicationhasdrawninterestintheUSA.Itfocusesontheproblemsarisingfromcommunicationbetweenpeopleofdifferentculturalbackgroundsandseekssolutiontotheseproblems.TheaimsofEnglishteaching,inthesamewa
4、y,aretoenablestudentstomasterthepurelanguageandtocommunicatewiththepeoplefromtheEnglish-speakingcountries.However,becauseofthedifferencesinallaspectsofcustom,wayofthinking,norm,valueandetc.,Englishlearnersoftenmakemistakesbyapplyingtheirownculturetotheforeignone.Itisthegr
