2、ring(MBSE)isanapproachtosoftwarede-velopmentcharacterizedinpartbysignificantlygreaterlevelsofautomationwhencomparedtomoretraditionaldevelopmentmethods.Computer-basedtoolsplayafundamentalroleinanumberofkeyaspectsofdevelopment,includingauthor-ingsupport(manyMBSElanguagesarepredominantlyvisual)
3、,automaticorsemi-automaticverification,automatedtranslationofspecificationsintocorrespondingprograms,andsoon.Giventhehistoricalprecedents,suchastheintroductionofcompilationtechnol-ogy,thereislittledoubtthatautomation,whenproperlyconceivedandrealized,candramaticallyincreasetheproductivityofsof
4、twaredevelopersandimprovethequal-ityoftheirsoftware.Therefore,itisnaturaltoassumethatMBSEwouldquicklybecomethedominantformofsoftwaredevelopment,similartotherapidadoptionofcomputer-aideddesignapproachesforhardware.Yet,thishasnotbeenthecase.Inthisopinion-basedarticle,derivedfromtheauthorslong
