2、iscategoryattempttoillustrateandteachtwogeneralprinciples:WehaveimplementedaMIPSsimulationtheinstructionsetarchitectureandthemicro-environmentcalledWebMIPS.Oursimulatorisarchitecture.accessiblefromtheWebandhasbeenInmanyuniversities,MIPSarchitectureissuccessfullyusedinintroduc
3、torycomputerstudiedbecauseitisaRISCarchitecturethatmakesarchitecturecourseatFacultyofInformationunderstandingabstractconceptsofcomputerdesignEngineeringinSiena,Italy.Theadvantagesofeasier.AnotheradvantageofMIPSISAisthatitistheWebapproachareimmediateaccesstotheusedintextbooks[
4、2],[3],whichrepresentareferencesimulator,withoutinstallation,andapossiblematerialforteachingcomputerarchitectureinmanycentralizedmonitoringofstudents’activity.universities,whichisalsothecaseforourfaculty.WebMIPSiscapableofuploadingandTherearethreewidelyusedMIPSarchitecturesim
5、ulators:SPIM,WinDLXandMIPSim.assemblingtheMIPScodeprovidedbyuser,SPIM[4]isanassemblylanguagesimulatorforsimulatingafive-stagepipelinestepbysteportheMIPS(R2000/R3000)processorthathasbothacompletely,anddisplayingthevaluesofallsimpleterminalinterfaceandavisual,window-basedregist
6、ers,inputandoutputdataofallpipelineinterface.ItimplementsalmostentireMIPSelements.assembler-extendedinstructionset(detailedSPIMdescriptioncanbefoundin[3]withmoredocumentationavailableonline[4]).SPIMwas1.Introductionextensivelyusedinourteaching,howeveritlackspipelinemodeling.W
