4、ionanddynamicbeamapplication,dedicatedmotionmitigationtechniqueshavetobeemployed.Todate,themotionmitigationtech-niques,rescanning,beamgating,andbeamtracking,havebeenproposedandtestedinexperimentalstudies.Rescanningreliesonrepeatedirradiationsofthetargetwit
5、hthenumberofparticlesreducedaccordinglyperscantostatisticallyaveragelocalmisdosage.Specificdevelopmentstoprohibittemporalcorrelationbetweenbeamscanningandtargetmotionwillberequiredtoguaranteead-equateaveraging.Forbeamgating,residualtargetmotionwithingatingw
6、indowshastobemiti-gatedinordertoavoidlocalmisdosage.Possiblythemostpromisingstrategyistoincreasetheoverlapofadjacentparticlepencilbeamslaterallyaswellaslongitudinallytoeffectivelyreducethesensitivityagainstsmallresidualtargetmotion.Themostconformalandpoten
