3、heaimofthisstudywastoassesstheeffectofperinatalexposuretoBPAoncerebralstructuraldevelopmentandmetabolismafterbirth.BPA(1mg/l)wasadministeredinthedrinkingwaterofpregnantdamsfromday6ofgestationuntilpupweaning.Atpostnatalday20,invivometaboliteconcentrationsintheratpuphippocampusweremeasuredus
4、inghighfieldprotonmagneticresonancespectroscopy.Further,brainwasassessedhistologicallyforgrowth,grossmorphology,glialandneuronaldevelopmentandextentofmyelination.Localizedprotonmagneticresonancespectroscopy((1)HMRS)showedintheBPA-exposedratasignificantincreaseinglutamateconcentrationintheh
5、ippocampusaswellasintheGlu/Aspratio.Interestinglythesetwometabolitesaremetabolicallylinkedtogetherinthemalate-aspartatemetabolicshuttle.QuantitativehistologicalanalysisrevealedthatthedensityofNeuN-positiveneuronsinthehippocampuswasdecreasedintheBPA-treatedoffspringwhencomparedtocontrols.Co
