3、neuralmechanismsofGestaltgroupingbyrecordinghigh-densityevent-relatedbrainpotentials~ERPs!duringdiscriminationtasks.InExperiment1,stimulusarrayscontainedluminance-definedlocalelementsthatwereeitherevenlyspacedorgroupedintocolumnsorrowsbasedoneitherproximityorsimilarityofshape.
4、Proximitygroupingwasindexedbyashort-latencypositivity~110±120ms!overthemedialoccipitalcortexandasubsequentrightoccipitoparietalnegativity.Groupingbysimilaritywasreflectedonlyinalong-latencyoccipitotem-poralnegativity.InExperiment2,proximitygroupingwasexaminedwhenlocalelementsw
