2、materials,suchaseducationalvideos,alsoarediscussedusingthisformalmodelofreviewing. Acriticalreviewisnotabookreport,norisitaliteraryanalysis,literaryreview,moviereview,orotherartsreviewthatworkswiththeelementsofliteratureorart. Rather,acriticalreviewisathorough,usuallyf
3、ormaldiscussionthatusesavarietyofcritical-thinkingtools,especially:(a)logical,accuratesummary;(b)discussionoranalysisofarguments,implications,andresponses;and(c)evaluativeweighingofthequalityofthewriting,organization,andcontents. CriticalReviewsindailylifeExamplesofcr
4、iticalreviewsaremostcommoninsimple,lessformalversionsappearinginnewspapersandmagazines.Thesereviewsareofeducationalnonfictionbookswithcontentsorganizedbysubjectmatter(notinstoryform). Suchreviewssummarizethecontentofthetextbeingreviewed,discussvariousopinionsorpossible
5、responsesfromthepublic,andevaluatehowwellthetexthasbeendeveloped. Examplesofformal—academicorprofessional—reviewsoftencanbefoundinthelatterhalfofacademicandprofessionaljournalsandmagazines. Aformalreviewoftendiscussestwo,three,ormoretextsonasinglesubjectatthesametime,t
