4、edinthelate1950s.Itisuniversallyacknowledgedthatthebigteahouseisamacrocosmofsociety.Asafragrantplumblossom,Teahousegrowswithtimeandgainsmuchappreciationbothathomeandabroad.Hence,ittakesanimportantpositioninthehistoryofChineseliterature.“Cognitiveturn”isthe

5、crucialturningpointinthe20thcentury,whichiscompletedmarkedwiththepublicationofMetaphorsWeLiveBywrittenbyGeorgeLakoffandMarkJohnsonin1980.Theyelaborated“metaphor”fromvariousaspects.Sincethentheconceptualmetaphortheoryhassteppedonthehistoricalstage.Different

6、fromtraditionalmetaphorstudy,conceptualmetaphorschoolholdsthatmetaphorisamodeofthinking,ratherthanarhetoricdevice.Thegrowingdevelopmentofconceptualmetaphortheorythrowslightonthestudiesonconceptualmetaphortranslation.Meanwhile,literaturetranslationdrawssome

7、motivationsfromit.Metaphortranslationisoneofthemaindifficultiesthatliterarytranslatorshavetoface.Inviewofitsimportanceandfrequency,itconstitutesanessentialelementinliteraturetranslationstudies.However,scholarsbothathomeandabroadarenotmuchinterestedinmetaph
