4、yingbecauseofproblemssuchasincorrectandinsufficientinformation，culturalmisunderstandings，linguisticmistakesanderrorsandSOon．Ithasaharmfulimpactontheachievementofmemorials’functions．Undertheguidanceoffunctionaltranslationtheories，andtakingcelebritymemorialsi

5、nZhejiangProvinceasexamples，thethesishasexploredproblemsinC—Etranslationofthosememorials，andfinallyputforwardtherelativetranslationmodel，methods，andpracticalsuggestionsforICMtranslation．Researchdatacomprise30authenticintroductionstOcelebritymemorialsinZheji

6、angbothinChineseandEnglish．Someoftheintroductionsaretakenfromtouristbrochuresandmostofthemareintroductionsinscribedinsteleorwoodboardsinfrontofthememorials．Foracomparativestudy，20introductionstocelebritymemorialsinUSAareincluded．Thisismainlyaqualitativestud

7、y,comparingandcontrastingChineseintroductionswithEnglishonesundertheguidanceofFunctionalTranslationtheories．ThestudyhasstartedwithafunctionalanalysisofC—EtranslationofICM，involvingtheagents，textfunctionsandtypesofICM，translationtypes，translationbrief,andthe
