4、ystudentsbasedonthetheoreticalframeworkofEnglishphonetics.AseriesofexperimentshavebeencarriedouttostudytheprosodicfeaturesofEnglishofChineseEFLlearners.ThroughcomparisonbetweenAmericanuniversitystudents’reading,problemsofstress,rhythmandintonationarepointedout.Specificresearchmethodsareco
5、mparisonandcontrast,whichisreflectedinacousticanalysisofrhythm,stressandintonation.Thisthesisconsistsofsixchapters.ChapterOneisanintroductiontothecurrentsituationofEnglishprosodyofChineseEFLlearners,anditintroducestheresearchbackground,purpose,valueandthesisstructure.ChapterTwo,theLiterat
6、ureReviewpart,elaboratestherelatedstudiesonprosody,fundamentalcomponentsofEnglishprosody,theteachingofEnglishprosodyandtheoriesrelatedtoEnglishProsody.Bysortingthemout,highlightsofEnglishprosodyaresummarized,thussuggestingtheinsufficienciesofthepreviousstudiesonEnglishprosody.Next,Chapter
7、Threegivestheresearchquestionsofthisthesis,followedbytheexplanationofresearchprocedures,participants,materials,datacollectionandthewaystomeasurefundamentalprosodicfeaturesofEnglish.ChapterFour,thebodypart,analyzestheprocessesindetailtheaudiodataofChineseEFLlearnersa
