3、aturityofapaintingstyleisusuallyaccompaniedbyanothernewstyle。InmiddleTangDynasty,waterpaintingbecameprevalent．ConvergedwithTaoismandBuddhismideas，itpavedthewaytotheformationandlateronthepopularizationofliteratipaimmginbothideologicalandmaterialaspects．InmiddleSongDynasty,pu

5、orkwhichwascharacterisedforgentlenessandexpressivenessintermsofstyle，preferenceofwatercolorratherthanheavycoloranddevelopmentoflightcolorandlinedrawinginforms,andemotionexpressinginfunction．Fromthenonliteratifigurepaintinginfinebrushworkbecamethenewtraditionoffigurepaiming．
