3、-scaleoffshorewindfarmsof150MWpowercapacityeachhasbeenannounced.ThefirstlargeoffshorewindfarminDenmarkwillbeconstructedatHomsRevbytheyear2002intheareaofthesystemoperatorELTRA.ThiswillbefollowedbythefirstintheareaoftheEasternDanishsystemoperator,ELKRAFTSystem,largeoffshorewindfarmatRods
4、andbytheyear2003.Theinstalledcapacityinon-landsettingsandincombinedheat-powerunits(UHP)willincreaseaswell,whilstthepowerproductionandcontrolabilityoftheconventionalpowerplantswithrespecttovoltageandfrequencyarereduced.Intheyearstocome,thepowerproductionpatternintheDanishpowersystemwill
5、changefromthepowersupplyfromconventionalpowerplants―asitisknowntoday―toapowersupplymix,whereabout30-40%ofpowerconsumption(inaverage)iscoveredbywindpower.Inotherwords,thepowertechnologywillundergochangesfromawell-knowntechnologybuilt-upaboutconventionalpowerplantstoapartlyunknowntechnol
6、ogy―windpower.Intheyeartocomeitwillbefocusingonmaintainingpowersystemstabilityandvoltagestability,forexampleatashortcircuitfault,ensuringpowersupplysafetyandotherimportanttasksasamountofwindpowerisdrasticallyincreasing.Thissituationmakesitnecessarytofindsolutionswithrespecttomaintainin
7、gdynamicstabilityofthepowersystemwithlargeamountofwindpoweranditsreliableoperation.Thesesolutionsarebasedonanumberofrequirementsthatareformulatedwithrespecttooperationofthelargeoffshorewindfarmsandtheexternalpowersystemincaseoffailureeventsintheexternalsystem.Thepapercontainsseparate
