3、lti-wordunitsandtheacquisitionofmulti-wordunitshelpsecondlanguagelearnersreachfluentandnative-likelevel.Atypeofmulti-wordunitscalledlexicalbundlesarefrequentlyrecurrentandformallyfixedingivenregisters.Manyacorpusresearchshowthatlexicalbundlesareimporta

4、ntbuildingblocksindiscoursewhichcandifferentiateregisters(Biberetal.,1999;Biber&Barberia,2007).Overseasstudieshavepaidattentiontolexicalbundlesusedinacademictexts,includingtheuseoftheminvariousdisciplinaryacademicwritingandthecomparisonoflexicalbundleu

5、seamongnative-speakerstudents,academicexpertsandsecondlanguagelearners.However,domesticresearchmainlyfocusesontheuseoflexicalbundleintimedcompositionswrittenbyundergraduates.Thereisalackofstudiesonadvancedlearners’useoflexicalbundleinacademictexts.Thec

6、urrentstudyaimstocomparefour-wordlexicalbundlesinChineseEnglishmajorpostgraduates’masterthesesofappliedlinguisticsandthatininternationalcorejournalarticlesofthesameacademicdiscipline.ThisstudycompliestwocorporawhichareRAcorpus(experts’researcharticles)

7、andMAcorpus(Chineselearners’MasterofArtstheses).Theresearchfirstexaminestheabundanceandfrequencydistributionoflexicalbundlesintwocorporaaswellasthesharedbundlesandbundlesnotsharedbylearnersandexperts.Afterwards,thecomparisonofthetwolistsoflexicalbundle

8、sismadeintermsoftheirstructuresandfunctions.Thefollowingsareresearchresults:ThelexicalbundlesabidingbythepresetcriteriainRAcorpusare16%morethanthatinMAcorpus.Amongthem,20.21%(38types)ofthelexicalbundlesaresharedinthetwocorporawhile81.91
