3、structureshavealsoresultedfromlessdramaticintroductions.HereinIconcentrateonthecumulativeimpactofsuchlessertechnologicaldevelopmentsononeparticularindustry,construction,andspecificallyonlaborrelationsinthatindustry.Constructionhasundergonefewmajortechnologicalupheavals
4、.Furthermore,theimpactofsomeofthelesserchangeshasundoubtedlybeenmutedbythediversityandcomplexityofboththeindustryanditsworkforce.Nevertheless,therearerecognizablecommonalities.Inmostconstructionsectors,technologyhascreateddemandsandopportunitiesfornewdivisionsofworkand
5、fornew,nontraditionalapportionmentsofjobownershipamongvarioustradesoramongdifferentlevelsoftheworkforcehierarchy.Somechangeshavebeensupportedandabsorbedbyexistingstructures,butothershavebeen(andcontinuetobe)resisted,sometimesfromsurprisingquarters.Thejourneyman-apprent
