3、neuralmechanismsofvisualaffectivepriming.EighteenyoungnativeEnglish-speakers(6males,12females)participatedinthestudy.Twosetsof720primetargetpairs(240affectivelycongruent,240affectivelyincongruent,and240neutral)usedeitherwordsorpicturesasprimesandonlywo
4、rdsastargets.ERPswererecordedfrom64scalpelectrodeswhileparticipantspressedeitherHappyorSadbuttonstoindicatetargetpleasantness.Theresponsetime(RT)resultsconfirmedanaffectiveprimingeffect,withfasterresponsestoaffectivelycongruenttrials(659ms)thanaffective
5、lyincongruenttrials(690ms).AffectivelyincongruenttrialshadlargerandmorenegativeN200activationthanthosetoneutraltrials.Importantly,adelayedN400forwordprimetargetpairsmatchedtheRTresultswithlargernegativeamplitudesforincongruentthancongruentpairs.Thisfind
