5、orksisthedevelopingofreliablealgorithmsforthedisseminationofinformationfromagivensourcetothousands,orevenmillions,ofuserssuchasfornewsandstockexchangeupdates,massfiletransfersandInternetbroadcasts[1,2].Inepidemic-inspiredcommunicationthisisachievedbyexploringamechanismanalogoustothe
6、spreadingofinfectiousdiseasesinpopulations[3,4].Indeed,epidemicdatadisseminationincomputerandcommunicationnetworksshowinterestingparallelswithbothdiseasepropagationinpopulationsandthespreadofrumorinsocialnetworks.Theinformationspreadslikeabenignepidemicthroughlocalinteractionbetwee
7、nnodeswhichforwardthemessagetheyreceivetoarandomselectionoftheirpeersinthenetwork,untilthewholesystembecomes“infected”withinformation.Thegreatadvantagesofepidemic-stylecommunicationisthatdisseminationproceedsonalocalbasis,withoutanyco-ordinationfromacentralorganizingbody[3,4].These
