3、affixessuchas“-speak,一friendly,men(-门),zu(一族),nu(.奴),"haveproducedmanynewwordslike‘‘lawyer-speak'’,‘‘society-friendly'’,‘'yanzhaomen(艳照f-1)",‘'fangnu(房奴)"and‘'yueguangzu(月光族)"inourlifeconstantly,whichhasattractedgreatattentionfrommanyscholars.ThustheresearchonEnglishandChin
4、esequasi—affixesisinaprocessofgraduallychangingfromasingle-leveledresearchtopictoamulti-facedandmulti—angledone.Throughthestudyofrelevantliterature,wehavefoundthatmostofthepreviousscholarsareanalyzingthedefinition,scopeandnatureofquasi-affixesbasedonstudyingthecharacteristi
5、csoftheirforms.Therearesomearticlesinvolvingthecausesoftheproductionofquasi-affixes,andsomearticlestryingtomakeapreliminaryanalysisofChinesequasi—affixesbyemployingtheConceptualBlendingTheory,butonlyafewscholarshavestudiedtheword-buildingfeatures,themeaningconstructionandco
6、gnitivesemanticmechanismsofEnglishandChinesequasi-affixes.Thispaper,treatingtheEnglishandChinesequasi—affixeswhichareproducedandwidelyusedsincethe20thcenturyastheresearchobject,makesacomparativelycomprehensiveandsystematicdescriptionontheclassificationandword—buildingfeatur
7、esofthosequasi-affixes,analyzesthemeaningconstructionofthemfromthecognitiveperspectivebyemployingtheIdealizedCognitiveModelTheoryandtheConceptualBlendingTheory,andtriestofindoutthesimilaritiesanddissimilaritiesofthesemanticmechanismsbetweenEnglishandChinesequasi-affixes.Bas
