3、r-formanceiscausallyrelatedtovocabularyacquisitioninchildhood.Thisinvolvesexaminingwhetherverbalshort-termmemorymeasuresaremorecloselyrelatedtotheabsolutelevelofindividualsÕvocabulary,ortherateatwhichvo-cabularyhasbeenattained.Inafirststudy,twogroupsofindividualswithl
4、earningdisability,whodifferedinagebutwerematchedforvocabularyknowledgeataroundthe8-year-oldequivalentlevel,showedcomparableverbalshort-termmemoryperformance.However,asecondstudyshowedthatinlessdevelopedindividualsfunctioningaroundthe5-year-oldlevelofvocabularydevelopm
