6、tVocabularyisthefoundationofallthelanguageskills．ThefourmostimportantskillsofEnglish，namely,listening，speaking，readingandwriting，areallinseparablefromvocabulary．However,accordingtotheinvestigationsandresearchinChinaandabroad，itisfoundthatmanylearnersofEnglishasfor

7、eignlanguagearenotabletomastervocabularywell，anditbecomesthemostdifficultiteminEnglishlearning．Thepresentdomesticresearchesmainlyfocusoncollegeandseniorhighschoolstudents，butseldominvolvejuniorhighschoolstudents．Furthermore，accordingtotheauthor’Sinvestigation，thep

8、roblemofvocabularyleaninginjuniorhighschoolWasmoreserious，andmorethan95％ofthestudentsthoughttheirvocabularylearningWashard．Theirmajorobstaclescamefromtwoaspects：ononehandtheyoftenforgetlearnedwordsveryquickly,andontheother，theydonotknowhowtousethewordscorrectly．Te

9、achersusuallyadopttraditionalvocabularyteachingapproaches，andstudentschieflyuserotememorytolearnvocabularies．Intraditionalvocabularyteaching,teachersteachvocabularyseparatelyfromthecontext．Generallyspeaking，theyonlyteachthepronunciation，spellingandChinesemeaningof

10、aword，andrarelytouchotheraspectsoftheword，suchasitsparadigmaticmeaningrelationsandsyntagmaticmeaningrelations．Accordingly,thestudentsmayremembersomeword
