6、tVocabularyisthefoundationofallthelanguageskills.ThefourmostimportantskillsofEnglish,namely,listening,speaking,readingandwriting,areallinseparablefromvocabulary.However,accordingtotheinvestigationsandresearchinChinaandabroad,itisfoundthatmanylearnersofEnglishasfor

7、eignlanguagearenotabletomastervocabularywell,anditbecomesthemostdifficultiteminEnglishlearning.Thepresentdomesticresearchesmainlyfocusoncollegeandseniorhighschoolstudents,butseldominvolvejuniorhighschoolstudents.Furthermore,accordingtotheauthor’Sinvestigation,thep

8、roblemofvocabularyleaninginjuniorhighschoolWasmoreserious,andmorethan95%ofthestudentsthoughttheirvocabularylearningWashard.Theirmajorobstaclescamefromtwoaspects:ononehandtheyoftenforgetlearnedwordsveryquickly,andontheother,theydonotknowhowtousethewordscorrectly.Te

9、achersusuallyadopttraditionalvocabularyteachingapproaches,andstudentschieflyuserotememorytolearnvocabularies.Intraditionalvocabularyteaching,teachersteachvocabularyseparatelyfromthecontext.Generallyspeaking,theyonlyteachthepronunciation,spellingandChinesemeaningof
