3、ceofmanynon-Englishmajorsmakesthemdifficulttoexpressclearly,gettinginthewayoftheirlearningandcommunication.Flippedclassroomteachingmodel(FCM),anewteachingmethod,flipsthetraditionalteachingmodelof―teachingfirst,learningsecond‖tothefreshmodelof―leaningfirst,teachingsecond
4、‖tohelpstudentsactivelyconstructtheirwritingknowledgestructure.Ittriestoachievebetterteachingeffectthroughstudents’pre-classpreparation,in-classinvolvementandteacher’shelp.ThisstudyappliesFCMtocollegeEnglishwritingcourse.Bycomparingthewritingperformancebetweenstudentsin
5、twoclassestaughtintraditionalwritingapproachandFCM,thestudyexplorestheeffectivenessofFCMinimprovingnon-Englishmajors'writingperformance,specifically,ittriestoaddressthefollowingthreequestions:1.CanFCMimprovenon-Englishmajors'writingperformancemoreeffectivelythantraditio
6、nalEnglishwritingteachingapproach?2.InwhatdimensionscouldFCMimprovestudents'writingability?3.Whatarestudents'perceptionsofFCM?80chemistrymajoredfreshmenfromtwonaturalclassesofYulinuniversityparticipatedintheteachingexperimentfromMarchtoJulyin2017.Studentsinthecontrolcla
7、ssweretaughtintraditionalwritingapproach.ThoseintheexperimentalclassweretaughtinFCM.Apre-testandpost-testwereconductedtofindanswerstothefirsttwoquestions,andaquestionnaireandinterviewwereperformedforthethirdquestion.DatacollectedwereanalyzedbothquantitativelywithSPSS19.
