4、readofChinesetraditionalculture．Thereareover200versesincludingshi(poems)，ci(slantrhymepomes)，qu(poemswithmelody)，fu(sentimentalcomposition)，ballads，couplets，lanternriddles，anddrinker’SwagergamesandSO011SOforthinHongLouMeng，whicharetheepitomizationofChinesetraditionalculture

5、．ThesepoemsarecloselyintertwinedwiththedevelopmentOfthetheme，andtheyalsoindicatethedestiniesofthecharacters．Therefore，itisconcludedthatthetranslationofversesinHongLouMengisveryimportantforthefullEnglishversions．ThetwofullEnglishversionsofHongLouMengwerecompletedbyYangXianyi

6、andGladysYangandDavidHawkesandJohnMinfordin1974and1986respectively，whichprovidetwogoodreferencetextsfortheresearchofpoetrytranslationinHongLouMeng．BasedonthetwofullEnglishversions，theauthorofthisthesiscarriesontheresearchoftranslatedpoemsinHongLouMengfromperspectivesofforei
