3、vironmentaleducationhasbecomeaglobalissue.However,theenvironmentaleducationindifferentregionsvariesduetotheirdifferentbackgroundsinpolitics,history,andculture.ThisarticleaimstoexplorethedifferencesandsimilaritiesinthepoliciesandpracticesofenvironmentaleducationinBeijin
4、gandHongKong.Itisexpectedthatthetwocitiescouldlearnfromeachothersoastocomplementtheirrespectivepoliciesandpractices.TheresearchfindingsrevealthatbothBeijingandHongKonggovernmentspaymuchheedtoenvironmentaleducation.Theyalsosharethecommonobjectivesofenhancingenvironmenta
5、lconsciousnessamongthepeople,strengtheningtheircompetencyinsolvingenvironmentalproblems,andfosteringtheenvironmentalethicsoffuturecitizens.EstablishingGreenSchoolandimplementinginterdisciplinaryenvironmentaleducationarethetwomainstrategiesadoptedbythetwocities.Yettheyd
6、ifferintangiblepedagogyandcurriculumdesign:(1)Beijingputsmoreemphasisontheimpartationofknowledgethroughtexts.HongKongpaysmoreattentiontoarousingpupils’curiosityinlearninganditscurriculumismoreinterestingandlively.(2)InBeijing,thecurriculumdesignismorepoliticizedandnati
