3、callydensebreasts.ThisisalsoaproblemforChinesewomenwithsmall,densebreasts.Ultrasonographyisveryusefulindetectionoflesions,evenindensebreastswhilelesssensitivetomicrocalcifications.Themeanproblemforradilogistsistoimprovethedetectionofbreastcancerandredu

5、ientsunderwentgray-scaleUSandDopplerUS,Vrespectively.EachlesioncharacteristicwasdescribedandclassifiedaccordingtotheBI-RADSsystem.Takingcategory1,2and3asbenign,category4and5asmalignant,thencomparedwithhistopathologicaldiagnosis.Results:1.Sensitivity,sp
6、ecificityandPPVforthedescriptor“irregularshape”and“notcircumscribedmargins”were83.7%,69.9%,72.6%and90.2%,69.5%,74.9%,respectively.Ofthemargins,PPVforangularorspeculatedandmicrolobulatedwere94.3%and80%.Sensitivity,specificityandPPVforthedescriptorposter
7、ioracousticfeature“shadowing”andlesionswithcalcificationswere30.7%,94.2%,83.5%and29.8%,92.4%,83.1%,respectively.Thesignof“nonparallelorientation”had32.1%sensitivity,77.9%specifityand60%PPV.2.Penetratingvesselswerefoundin26.3%malignantlesionsand1.9%beni
