3、rogressionofthecondition.Todate,theliteraturesupportsamultifactorialmodelwiththelargest,mostdetailedtwinstudydemonstratingstrongenvironmentalcontributiontothedevelopmentofthecondition.Here,wepresentabriefreviewoftheneurological,immunological,andautonomicabnormalitiesinASDfocus
4、ingonthecausativerolesofenvironmentalagentsandabnormal gut microbiota.Wepresentaworkinghypothesisattemptingtobringtogethertheinfluenceofenvironmentontheabnormalneurological,immunological,andneuroimmunologicalfunctionsandweexplaininbriefhowsuchpathophysiologycanleadto,and/orexa
5、cerbateASDsymptomatology.Atpresent,thereisalackofconsistentfindingsrelatingtotheneurobiologyof autism.Whilstwepostulatesuchvariablefindingsmayreflectthemarkedheterogeneityinclinicalpresentationandassuchthevariablefindingsmaybeofpathophysiologicalrelevance,moreresearchintothene
