2、anappreciationoftheacquisitionofafirstlanguage(L1)andlearningofasecondlanguagewillbebrieflyoffered.Thentoensurethereaderisproperlyoriented,somenecessarydefinitionsandanoverviewofthegrammaticaldifferencesbetweenEnglishandChinese(Mandarin)forestablishingtime,primarilyatasentenceleve
3、l,willbevital.Nextthepreferredmethodologicaltool,a“conjugationchart”ofthepresent,pastandfuturesimpletensesinEnglishandChinesehasbeendevelopedandwillbepresented.Ahighlyspeculativeoverviewoftheculturalrootandthedifferencesinthemeasurementoftimeasthecausalfactorsinthemassivevariation
4、willbebrieflyoutlined.Theconjugationchartisoriginalandisnotthepatterncurrentlyinuse,andthoughitmaynotbetheultimatetoolinlanguagelearning,itappearstohavenoinherentnegativeimpact.Finally,thispreferredmethodwillbedefendedonthebasisofprovidingthemeanstoovercometheinherentdifficultiesi
