3、orinHallidayansensewithmetaphorsfromalternativeperspectives.ArhetoricalperspectiveTherhetorical,alsocalledtheclassicalviewsinceitcanbetracedbacktoAristotle’swritingsaboutmetaphorportraysmetaphorasadeparturefromnormallanguage,effectingadecorationtoplainlanguagein
4、everydayuseandanunexpectedaestheticbeautytowritings.Inthisrespecttheaudienceisrequiredofspecialcapacitytointerpretthemetaphoricalitems.Studyofmetaphorinviewofrhetoriccontinueditswaythroughthelonghistory,andtodayitisstillapuzzlingsubjectinmodernrhetoricandstylist
5、ics.Inaddition,thisapproach,givenitsdeep-rootedinfluenceoverthepasttwothousandyearsormore,maybethemostpopularamongnon-researcherssincemetaphor,asitwere,hasbeentraditionallyviewedasafigureofspeechinvolvingameaningtransferencefromaword’sliteralmeaninginrhetoricalt
