3、athandfromeachother'sdifferingculturalperspectives.ETHNOCENTRISMProblemsinbusinesscommunicationconductedacrossculturesoftenarisewhenparticipantsfromonecultureareunabletounderstandculturallydetermineddifferencesincommunicationpractices,traditions,andthoughtprocessing.Atthemostfundamen

4、tallevel,problemsmayoccurwhenoneormoreofthepeopleinvolvedclingstoanethnocentricviewofhowtoconductbusiness.Ethnocentrismisthebeliefthatone'sownculturalgroupissomehowinnatelysuperiortoothers.Itiseasytosaythatethnocentrismonlyaffectsthebigotedorthoseignorantofothercultures,andsoisunlike

5、lytobeamajorfactorinone'sownbusinesscommunication.Yetdifficultiesduetoamisunderstandingofelementsincross-culturalcommunicationmayaffectevenenlightenedpeople.Ethnocentrismisdeceptivepreciselybecausemembersofanycultureperceivetheirownbehavioraslogical,sincethatbehaviorworksforthem.Peop
