2、proverbsandslangexpressions.BothEnglishandChineseareexpressivelanguages,whichareveryrichinidiomaticexpressions.Differentcharacteristicsanddifferenthistorybackgroundgivecolortomostidiomaticexpressions.Someidiomshaveevidentmeaningsandwecanunderstandthemliterally.S
3、omeidiomshaveimplicitmeanings,whichoftenrequirereader’simagination.Someidiomsuseallusions,ofwhichwemustunderstandthebackgroundbeforewecangettherightidea.Andthewaysinwhichthewordsareputtogethertoformidiomsareoftenodd,illogicalandevengrammaticallyincorrect.Thesesp
4、ecialfeaturesofidiomsmakeitdifficultforustotranslatethem.Whenwetranslatetheidioms,weshouldkeeptherulesoftranslation,oneofwhichis“faithfulness”.Ontheonehand,weshouldexpressthemeaningsclearlyandcorrectly.Ontheotherhand,weshouldtryourbesttopreservetheirformsandfigu
