3、icallinguisticstorevealtherelationshipbetweenideologyandlanguage,withappropriatelinguisticstheoryanalyzingpublicdiscourse.Hallidaycalleditas"autonomouslinguistics"whichisoutside"instrumentallinguistics”.Itsstatushasuniversallyacknowledgedbylinguisticsschools.TheresearchofcontemporaryCriticalDiscour
4、seAnalysiswasdevelopedinthelate1970sfromCriticalLinguistics,whichwasmainlycreatedbyBritainandAustralia.In1991,theterm"criticallinguistic"wascompiledintoCrystal’sDictionaryofLinguisticsandPhonetics,anditwasexplainedindetailbyMalmkjaerinLinguisticsEncyclopedia.Atpresent,moreandmorescholarsareapplying
5、CDAtostudynewsreports,especiallypoliticalnewsreports,forexample,KouJie’sCriticalDiscourseAnalysisofPoliticalNewsReportsinAmericanandBritishNewspapersandHilaryJanks’sCriticalDiscourseAnalysisasaResearchTool.TherearealsosomescholarsanalyzingSino-USrelationbystudyeconomicnewsreportswithCDA,butuntilnow
