3、5servedtocorrectsuchmisleadingtranslationsandsupportsthevie,andanexaminationoftheargumentsofscholars(BenedettoCroceandEricHeller)etimesmisleadingstatements,Hegeldidnotintendtheendofartinthesensethatthisideaentsoutofcontextitple,tosaythatHegelbelievedthatarthadetoanendi
4、nhistimeorthatitspurposeasameansofrevealingthetruthhadbeensupplantedbyreligionandphilosophy.But,asSirMalKnoxpointedout,,Hegelalso“saidthatarteIdidnotcarryonthisdiscussionodernandcontemporaryart.YetitseemedcleartomethatHegel’sanalysisopeneduptheentspertainingtothedebate
