3、rtounderstandandutilizethetextbookbetter,EnglishteachersneedtocomprehendittotallyandhaveevaluationcriterionaboutEnglishtextbooks,whocanowntheabilitytochooseandusedifferentteachingcontentsandmethodsflexiblyaccordingtostudents’requirementsandtheactualteachingconditions.Thisp

4、aperpaysmoreattentiononthemeritsanddemeritsofthetextbook,Goforit.  2.TheEvaluationofGoForIt  HuchinsonandWaters(2002)saythatevaluationisamatchingprocess.Somethingneedstobefitforaspecificpurpose.Textbookevaluationhasthesamereason.Nunan(2004)statesthattheaimofGoForItistoimpl

5、ementtask-basedapproachintheEnglishlanguageteachingtomakestudentslearnabouthowtouselanguageratherthanacquiresomesimpleknowledgepoints.Inthefollowingpart,Iwillevaluatethetextbook-GoForItfromthestrengthsandtheweakness.  2.1Strengths  Firstly,Cunningsworth(2002)claimsthatcour

6、sebookshavetotakeaccountofstudents’needsandpromotetheirinterestsonstudy.Inthisbook,eachpagewithattractivepicturesthatarefitforstudents’psychologicalfeaturesbecausetheylikeinterestingandvalidpaintings.Oneofthemostimportantcharactersofthisbookisvitalknowledgeaccompaniedenter
