3、dyof215malelungcancercasesand860controlswasinitiatedfromacohortstudyof11016subjectsemployedatleast1yearbetween1972and1974incopperandironmines.Onelungcancercasewasmatchedtoabout4controls,basedonage(decadeofbirth),sex,andmine.Controlsthatdiedatanageyoung

4、erthantheageatdiagnosisoflungcancerofcorrespondingcaseswereexcludedfromanalysis.Theresultsindicatedthatthecumulativedustexposure,smoking,silicosisandhistoryofTBwerethepossibleriskfactorsoflungcancer,afteradjustingforsmoking.Comparingtodust-freegroup,th

5、erelativeriskoflungcancerincreasedwhencumulativeexposurestototaldustbecomehigher.Thepositivedose-responserelationshipwasobservedbetweencumulativedustexposureandlungcancer.Smokingwassignificantlyassociatedwithriskoflungcancer;therelativeriskofmedialsmok

6、inggroup(OR=4.16)andlowsmokinggroup(OR=2.40)werehigherthanthenon-smokinggroup.Therisksufferingfromlungcanerofworkerswithsilicosiswas1.42timeshighascomparisonwithnon-silicosis.Theresultscouldconfirmtheeffectofsilicosisonlungcancerbecausesilicosismeanshi
