2、tantandcanbeuseful,thoughitisadifferentforresearcharticlesintheJournaloftheMedicalresearcharticlecategoryandneedstobepresentedLibraryAssociation(JMLA).Itstartedbecauseofsomecarefully.Ittakeslessspacetodescribeanddiscuss,confusionaboutamanuscriptlabel,‘‘fulllength,’’andtheresearchsubmission
3、categorymightbeasin‘‘full-length’’papers.Well,everyauthorbelievesa‘‘report’’ora‘‘briefcommunication.’’Importantly,heorshesentinafull-lengthmanuscript.‘‘WhyitcanhavejustasmuchimpactasalongerresearchwouldIsendonlyhalfanarticle?,’’oneauthorsaid.paper.Maybemoreso.Indeed.So,mostoftheresearchsub
4、missionscameinas‘‘full-lengthpapers.’’AndwhenwereassignedsomeLABELSANDCITATIONCOUNT‘‘full-length’’articlesubmissionstothe‘‘researchToillustratethatlabelsdonotmakeadifference,wereport’’category,wegotsomepushback.Thelabel,lookedatcitationcount—thenumberofcitationsan‘‘fulllength,’’apparentlys
5、uggestedprestige,some-articlereceives—for(full-length)papers,briefcom-howgivingtoanarticleimportancenotsharedmunications,andcasestudies.Generallyspeaking,byotherarticles.Researchersthoughta‘‘researchreport’’hadlessprestigeorimportancethana‘‘full-thehigherthenumberofcitations,thegreaterthel
6、engthpaper.’’Werejectthatconcept,soweelimi-perceptionofvalueorimpactforthatarticle.Weusednatedthe‘‘full-length’’label.Scopus.ThesamplewasallarticlesintheJMLAin2010and2011.Weloveourresearchers,andweknowweneedthemtosurvive.But,honestly,theprestigeofInthe2010JMLA,9papersand6briefcommu-theirre
7、searchcomesfromtheresearchitselfandhownicationsorcasestudieshadmorethan5citationwellitiswritten.Theimpactofthearticledependscountsperarticle.Highcitationcountswentto1(full-alsoonhowmanypeoplereadthepaper.Neitherlength)paperwith22citations[1]and1casestudypresti
